Introduction to the OCVerse #1 - The Universe, Nivius, & Surrounding Planets

The main universe, also known as Universe-Prime to the rest of the multiverse. This is where, most of the adventures of our characters take place. Some characters (such as Haruko, Yuuki, Satoru, and Isamu Hitomi) refer to this as the "new universe", in reference to the fact that Haruko "accidentally" erased the old one in the first battle with Extinction. 

nevertheless, the universe was created more than 6000 years ago by it's Creator, who goes by many names, but is for all intents and purposes, God. while in the OCVerse canon, many people across different planets believe the universe is billions of years old, only very few know it's true young age. (Strife Kurosaki, Celeste Shizuki, Mya Kagumi, and Rush Leon Jr, to name a few). 

Before there were people, there were the Angels. You know the story... everything was peaceful until Lucifer attempted a coup. There was a war between the ones loyal to God (led by the Archangel Michael) and Lucifer's newly formed rebellion. it was a conflicting war for many, as they saw themselves facing off against those who were, in every meaning, their brothers. After their defeat, Lucifer and his army were hurled from the Heaven. 

What you don't know is that sometime later, there was another internal conflict in Heaven, a conflict of which will be explored in later stories in the OCVerse. this conflict involved the Angels Konton, who adopted similar ideals to Lucifer; Medros, a loyal but irresolute servant to God, and the growing number of factions within Heaven. Eventually, Konton and his clique would depart from Heaven to inhabit one of the planets of the universe, which we will learn about below. Medros and the others followed after direct orders from Himself.

With the creation of the universe, came the many planets that populate it. Obviously there's Earth, Mars, the usual suspects. of course, in the OCVerse, most of the stories take place on the planet Nivius. Younger than Earth, but considered more advanced, if you live on Nivius, you're bound to find yourself tangled in some serious shit. 

Obviously as we've learned in the OCVerse stories already released, there are other planets besides Nivius and Earth out there. There's Adania, and if you've read New Age Icons (2019) you know all about that. There's Athars, as introduced in Extinction (2020). There's planet Draco, popularly called The Dragon World. As the stories go on, many more planets will be introduced. But we're here to talk a little bit about Nivius.

In Nivius' early days, the Angels roamed the planet. To the more troglodytic inhabitants of the planet in it's infancy; these Angels were pronounced and celebrated as Gods ("The Nivius Gods"), a facade which Konton took great pride in. These early years of the planet, the magical and sometimes violently pernicious conflicts between the Gods, became the basis of the planet's first historical scriptures, known as The Book(s) of The Gods. Every book was either penned or commissioned by one of the Nivius Gods, with the exception of Medros (but make no mistake, is very important to the OCVerse lore). This all culminated in what was known as "The Divine Battle", which saw most of Nivius' mainland and population eviscerated, as the Nivius Gods went to war.

The surviving population was left in a world without the Nivius Gods, as they seemingly disappeared just as soon as they were there! The Nivians rebuilt from here, salvaging what was left and creating a beautiful new world atop the ashes of the old. They established a king; a cosmocracy of multiple branches (although certain regions were allowed to establish their own sovereign governments). They developed multiple distinct cultures and peoples, and science became a complement to religion. Educational systems were established, with students able to select their desired areas of study and skills from the moment they entered the system. Nivians were legally considered adults as soon as they were capable of financial independence, regardless of their age, as the early Nivians who designed these laws generally don't give much credence to the quantitative variable of age. Rather, they emphasize the mental, economic, and educational aspects of it. Of course, when the Humans came, many laws were modified as a result of their influence.

Across the various centuries of Nivius, there were paramount conflicts and events that either plagued or nurtured the people, some tribulations bringing them even closer together. Some of these, like the Nivian-Dragon War, the Silent Famine, the Obsidian Plague, will be explored in future stories. the most notable of course, is the Nivian-Human War, also known as, the Existential War. that was explored in the 2020 story Existential War. (If you need to read it, contact me) Of course there was also the emergence of costumed vigilantes, referred to as "superheroes" by the general public. 

The first generation of heroes, featuring Okura Higuchi (the original Iron Ninja), Rebecca Leon (God's Gift), Thomas Tybalt Sr (the original Velocity), Suzume Higuchi (Redline), Ichigo Shizuki (The Shadow Avenger), Rush Leon Sr (The Truth), Kazuhiro Nishiyama (Nikomedes), Hideaki Kurosaki (Kitsune) and more heroes/villains will also be explored and chronicled in later stories, as well as getting dedicated posts on this blog in the future!

And then there's Nivius in the present day. The new age of heroes has been born, following the events of Existential War and it's sequel, Extinction. There's a new Velocity (Thomas Tybalt Jr), Instant Velocity (Tamara Tybalt), a new Iron Ninja (Seiji Higuchi), a new Shadow Avenger (Celeste Shizuki), the Iron Kitsune (Strife Kurosaki), the Azure Heroine (Mya Kagumi), The Human Hybrid (Austin Nishiyama) and many, many more heroes populating the planet. Many adventures await, the age of heroes has come again.
